CYCLING.

The North Canterbury Centre of tin N<r» Zealand League of Wheelmen mot at tW Clarendon Hotel last night, Mr G. E. Goode in the chair. Replies from eight club* showed 620 members. It was deeMed thai _the Centre should be managed by the full representa&ion of delegates to which clubs were entitled under the rules. It was stated that the Centre would comprise about 20 delegates. It was therefore decided to recommend the Council that the maximum number of delegates from each club should be four. The affiliation of the Union Club was deferred,, pending the receipt of properly printed rules. The HandccappinK bub-Committee recommended the payment of the official handicappor on the basis of 6d each rider first nomination, and 3d each additional nominatEon. The basis was agreed to, clubs to pay the amount out of their funds to the secretary of the Centre, who shall pay the handkapper. One application was received for the position of official handdcapper, and Mr W. G. Williams was elected; and it was decided that it should be compulsory on clubs to utilise hes services in «11 events except club races. The Chnstchurch Club's programme for December 16th was approved. It was decided that permits should be granted on printed or complete programmes only; and that tie League be recommended to allot the D.C.L. trophy to the two-mile amateur event at the Christohurch Ghib's mteeting on December 16th. After suggestihg a number of rules for the conduct of the Centre, the meeting closed. The committee of the. ChrisUshurch Cycling Club met on Tuesday night. With reference to a letter from the North Canterbury centre, it was decided to reply that the club considered it advisable to work the centre with the lull representation of delegates, MrF. T. Pannell wae elected as the cubs fourth delegate to the centre. A donation-of a gold medal, value £2 2s, for the hill-climbing competition, was received from Messrs Jones and Son,
