The Egmont Racing Club's meeting commences to-day. The chief event, the Egmont Steeplechase, may go to Nor'-Weat, and Kanaka reads well in the Hurdle Race.
The contents of the current number of the " Referee " are full of interest to sportsmen and others. Notes on the form of New Zealand Cup candidate? at Avondale, colonial horses in England, and Australian racing are chatty .and instructive. " Oileus " contributes a badget of information under the heading of Revisited," and the latest item* by the English and Australian mails are furnished.
