For the Derby and Melbourne Cup the lollowing combinations were supported—Bobadil and Clarion and Bobadil and Reka, lor £10,000 each; Bobadil with The Chief, The Grafter and Manfred, for .£6OOO each; Cocos with The Grafter and Amberite, £5000 each; Gauleon and Merloolas, and Woodlark and Merlooks, £5000 each. Numerous combinations were largely backed for the two Cups. Merloolas and Clarion are equal favourites for the Melbourne.'Cap. 1000 to 60 could have been had about the supposed best of the others. $000 to 100 was placed to the credit of Amberite.
