(PRK3S ASSOCIATION TKLEGRAM.) AUCKLAND, September 20. Archdeacon Dudley was presented before' bis departure for England with £103 from his brother clergymen, £140 from- the laity, and £236 from hie parishioners. It is stated that Mahuta, the Maori "king/ , is not desirous of accepting an appointment in the Legislative Council, and if he goes to Wellington he will only do so on the advice of his council of chiefs, in order to assist in the settlement of the native land "difficulty. Inspector Emerson met the natives' at Ruatoki, and held a long kerero. -The natives unanimously agreed to abide by the law, and the difficulty is therefore settled. The natives cheered the police when he was leaving. ■
