THE PACIFIC CABLE QUESTION.
United Press Association—By Electric Telegi^pk—Copyright.
SYDNEY, September 20.
As a result of the recent Conference of Postmasters-General, a cable has been sent to England asking for definite information as to whether the Imperial Government is prepared to contribute to the Pacific cable.
The position appears to be that while Queensland anil New Zealand favour the Pacific, South Australia and West Australia support the Cape route, which is also favoured by the Imperial authorities. New South Wales and Victoria are lukewarm with regard to the Pacific cable. -
