ELLESMERE A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.
A Committee meeting of -we Agricultural and Pastoral Assomii-i took place on Monday last; Mr J. Oaboroe (President) in the chair. Correspondence from New Zealand Railway authorities, in reference to an application for a gate and crossing over the railway line showed that the application was still unsottled. The Secretary of tho Department of Agriculture, Wellington, wrote agreeing to allow Mr Keakes to give an addres3 to tho members lot the Association on tuberculosis and diseases of cattle. Mr F. B. Charlton, M.R.C.V.S., also agreed to give an address at a similar meeting. It was decided that the meeting should take place oh September 29th. Tenders for show privileges were held over for a sub-com-mittee to report. It waa decided after pro* curing evidence to pass the accounts for the Association's share of costs to the irrigation conference. The question of side shows caused a long discussion, and it was ultimately decided not to admit any games of diauce or boxing booths on the ahow grounds, and ths*t the police be authorised I , to evict spielers or any of the fraternity .mining doubtful games on show day. I The secretary read correspondence received j from donors of special prizes, which unonnted to £115. The subcommittee appointed to allocate the prize money reported that tho allocation had been completed on the same basis as last year, except ihat a£2 2* champion prize had been added to the prize list for horses, cattle and pica. Claos stewards were appointed in the several classes, a number of the new and young members taking the places of older ones. It was decided to hold a horao paraae at Lees'.on on September 30th.
