There wa's an entry of about 2000 sheep atj the Midland Saleyards;yesterday, comprising fat and forward wethersj ewes in lamb and hoggets. There" was good competition for all sorts up to a certain, limit, but except in the case of a few lots of hoggets and wethers the owner* asked more money than buyers were willing to give. In the produce yards, sales were :—Heavy butchers , crossbred sheepskins 4s to 53,; merino do 4s to 4s 9d, country do 2s 6d to 4s, merino do 2s to 4s 6d, hides 2d to 2£d lb, fat 9s to 11s 6d cwt, wool 3d to 6W lb, fowls 2s to 3s 6d pair, ducke 33 to 4s, chick wheat- 3s to 3s 6d bushel, milling wheat 3s 6d to 33 9d, oats 2s 6d to 3s Id, seed barley 4s to 4s 6d, beans 3s 9d to 4s, peas 3s 3d to ss, grass seed (farmers') 2s to 3s, do machine 3s 9d to 4s 3d, cocksfoot 3Jd to 4d lb; to 6£d, white clover: 5d to 6|d, alsyke 6£d, bran 75s ton, sharps 90s, best fiour 235, potatoes £5 ton, carrots, 20s. Yesterday, at the Tinwald Yards, there was only a small yarding of stock. The attendance was small, but tbe bidding was better than of late. There was an advance in sheep of from 6d to Is per head. The Leef trade was better, only heifers and cows being offered ; beef was worth 23s per iOOlbs. There were about 4000 sheep, .31 head of cattle and 20 pigs. Fat crossbred ewei and wethers, 12s 4d, 12s Id, 10a &1, 8s 9d s 15s 2d ; fat crossbred wethera, 153 to 16s 9«1.
