« (PEE 33 ASSOCIATION TELEGRAMS.) AUCKLAND, June 2. In the Supreme Court a young man named Edward H. Ellis was sentenced to two years' imprisonment with hard labour for indecent assault ou a girl. WELLINGTON, June 2. An Order-in-Council authorises the issue of a publican's license at Opilonui ia the Heretaunga riding, Thames. DUNEDIN, June 2. A meeting of farmers, graziers, butchers, &c, was held to-night to consider the question of the meat condemned \at the city abbatoirs. The butchers are disposed to bear half the cost of the animals condemned, but no resolution was passed, the chairman stating that the object of the meeting was to discuss the question.
