TENNIS.
The annual meeting of the Southbridge Lawn Tennis Club was held in the Library on Thursday evening, the Rev. P. J. Cocks in the chair. The balance sheet showed a credit balance of £4 14s Sd. The balance sheet was adopted. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows :— Secretary and treasurer, Mr T. A. Gates (reelected) ; committee, Rev. P. J. Cocks, Dr. Withers, and Mesera Marquand, Thornton, Willis, Gates, Misses Cryer, Hill and Mrs Marquand; refreshment committee, Misses Todd, Dyce, Gates, C. Hill and Scott; match committee, Messrs Withers, Cocks, and Gates. The subscription was fixed at the same rate as last year. The ladies of the Little River Club hare completed a tournament for a racquet, pro* sentedby Mr John Buchanan. The following are the results :—Miss Wiggins beat Mrs Ryan 6—4, 4—6, 6—2. Miss Tyeon beat Misa A. Coup 4—6, 6—l, 6—2. Mist Buchanan beat Miss Coup 6—4, 6—3. Mies M. Coup beat Miss Hams 6— 1, 3—6, 6—3. Miss Sefton beat Miss Wallace 6—3, 6—3. Mrs Buchanan beat Miss Tyson 6—5, 6—5. Miss M. Coup beat Mies Wiggins 6—2, , 6—5. Miss Buchanan beat Miss Sefton
5—6,6—1,6—2. Mies M. Coup beat Mrs Buchanan 4—6, 6—5, 6—3. Miss M. Coup beat Miss Buchanan 4—6, 6—l, 6—4, and won the racquet. In a match at Little River between the local club and Lincoln College the total scores were—Little River 90, Lincoln College 33.
