MR WRAGGE'S STORM.
'A correspondent of the Nelson "Colonist" suggests that "Asat" passed over New Zealand too nigh up to be troublesome on sea or land. He states that he saw a gale pass high overhead on the 4th inst. He was then camped some thousands of feet above the level of the sea. "My bed," he says, "was wet grass—my covering a small tent without a fly—and with all tiiat (fascomfort I felt comfortable that the storm, which was {Missing between mc and the moon, was not ower down. Up tlhere, about half a mile over my head, I saw the fleecy cloud» passing the moon at a rate I have never witnessed since the great European storm of 1893. The sight I witnessed on Wednesday was very beautiful, the raoon being at one moment clear; the next surrounded by a halo; the next by a brilliant rainbow; the next moment obscured, and so on, for hours, each body of vapour passing with incredible rapidity."
