WELLINGTON.

May 16. The limited supply of loose boxes at Ofcaki is causing annoyance amongst horse, owners, and #t difficulty is likely to be experienced to get accommodation for the large number of horses which will be in attendance at the meeting. The Hutt horses have been responsible for good work during the last week, and I fufly expect them to make a good chow at the Otaki meeting. W. XJavies will probably take up Oracle, Ruby Twist, and Swordfish, T. Clark Sylph, Christmas Eve, and Cornea; I. James lota and Trask; A. Peters Conspirer and Raupo II.; J. Hun* ter Rochester and Charlatan; and F. Higv gott Off Chance. , Ruby Twist is gradually throwing off the soreness which he showed at Hawera and has been doing slow work during the Just; few morning*. , J. Prosser will probably be represented a] Otaki by Gobo, Ponaturi, Steel King, anc First Result. . . Toriki and Opai have been, doing well in their work, and Prosser is likely to go to Wanganui with the pair. It depends on how they perform in their engagements aij Wanganui whether they will be taken on to Auckland. I hear that Toriki is taking kindly to big country, but he has a formic!able opponent at Wanganui in Plain Bill, of whom report says he is very well and jumping cross-country obstacles at- ,larawanui in magnificent style. A. Rore of Blenheim, has purchased a gelding by Foulshot—Linda (by Traducer— Peggy). (Splendid fields will compete at the Greytown Hospital Sports on Queen's Birthday. This meeting has failed to receive the aasent of the Metropolitan Club, and, therefore, , all horses competing at it will be placed under the ban of disqualification. Amongßti those included in the handicaps are Vace J line, Lord John, Pistollefcte, and Tuesday. Rore took Lady Agnes over to hie farm at Blenheim last week, Mr Croesey having decided to give her six months' spell. Owing to a misunderstanding Mr Ciosgey'J horses were placed in. the Unpaid Forfeit i List last week. It appeara that a cheque was forwarded to the club to clear the horses, but it was miscarried, and did not arrive in time to prevent their names appearing in the Official Calendar.
