WAIPARA.

At the meeting held on the 4th inst there were present—Sir George Clifford, M. J. Burke, J. H. Hall, S. B. Gibp. Sir George Clifford was voted to the chair. The Chairman, Mr James Douglas, who asked for leave of absence, thanked the members of the Board on liis retirement from office for their hearty co-operation. It was decided to forward the Board's thanks to Mr Douglas, with an expression of its sincere regret at his retirement. The President of the New Zealand Cyclists' Touring League wrote asking permission to have notice boards erected on some ot the roads in the district warning cyclists of dangerous portions of such roads. Permission was granted, the Surveyor to make arrangements as to where the boards should be erected. Accounts amounting to £204 17s 7d were passed for payment.
