Sea heavy from the southward on East Coast southward of Napier after from twelve to twenty hours. Tides high on all Western Coast and on East Coast of South Island, good from Castle Point northwards.

The Falcon lost a topmast on Sunday, and Captain Green deemed it advisable to put back to port. The Gothic's passengers from Wellington were Mesdames Robinson, Metcalfe, Smalley and Donald, Canon Cameron, and Messrs Thomas, D. Williamson, Robinson, Handysides, Metcalfe and Burns.
The Waimate returned from Timaru yesterday. She completes her loading from here to-morrow and sails then for Waitara.
The Kini and Herald left Lyttelton yesterday for Wellington and the West Coast. The Tauuo left yesterday for Dunedin via Akaroa and way ports. The Penguin sailed for Wellington, Pic , on and Nelson yesterday. The Jerfalcon is ready for sea and will Bail probably to-day. . „ ; ■> -
