MEETINGS AND ENTERTAINMENTS.

The annual concert in aid of Sfc. Thomas's Sunday-school, Dnnsandel, was held in the Town Hall on Friday. Songs were contributed by Mrs Furze, Misses Furze (2), Irvine, Lill, Messrs F. Lill, F. Wright, Pnttick and Rev. Cocks, and recitations by Miß3 Jones, Messrs J. Cowan, C. Wright and P. J. Cocks. Miss Fiirze and Mr Faulkner acted as accompanists. At a concert and distribution of prizes at Aylesbury on Thursday evening, tions and vocal and instrumental items were given by Misses Johnson, Patterson, Croskell, Belgrave and Nutsey, Mrs Croskell, Master Leslie and Messrs Hutchison, Belgrave, Dixon, Bedford, Morland, Griffith, Bourke and Simpson, a etep dance by Mr Bourke, and songs by the children. Each child received a prize. An entertainment was given by theKowai Dramatic and Musical Company on Friday evening in the Governor's Bay Hall, in aid of the funds of Sfc. Cuthbert's Churoh. Vocal items were contributed by Messrs Bailey, Budd, Jennings and Edward Radcliffe. The hall, which was brilliantly lighted by the new lamps, was well filled. A well attended meeting of the Very Rev. Father Cummings's Testimonial Committee was held in the parish library, Barbadoes street, last evening. The various sub-com-mibteea submitted reports which were sidered satisfactory. Hearty votes of thanks were passed to the Very Key, Father Lβ Menant dcs Ohesnaia for hia services as chairman, and to all who had contributed towards the testimonial and otherwise assisted.

The Suraner School Committee held its usual meeting on Saturday evening, present Messrs J. Crawford (chairman), Maffey, Mosley and Wheeler. The Chairman was authorised to have certain alterations made. A letter was received from Mr Wrenn covering a legal opinion advising him to take ho further steps regarding a charge bf assault against a teacher that the Committee had investigated. The Committee,,expressed pleasure, that the matter was to .be dropped. >
