THE SITUATION IN INDIA.
THE EXPEDITION AGAINST THE AFRIDIS.
Calcutta, October 7. The reports from Peshawnr state that the Or&kzais and Afridis continue to resist the British, and threaten to excommunicate the tribes making separate terms.
The Indian Government is issuing general orders setting forth reasons for the Afridi expedition, and excusing loyal natives from service against their fellow tribesmen.
Russia is displaying great activity in the Pamirs, and a road for vehicle traffic across the Abkaital Pass has / been completed.
