Rev. H. H. and Mrs Mathias returned to Kaiapoi yesterday from their visit to the West Coast.

Mr H. Zander was a passenger from the touth by yesterday's express. Mr J. R. Scott went by the same train. Mrs J. C. Wasou, Corwar, returned home yesterday.

Messrs Oakden and A. Johnston, Dunedin, two of the judges at the Winter Show, returned home yesterday.

Mr N. Dewar, the General Secretary of the Citizens' Life Assurance Company, went south by the express yesterday. Mr James T?. Lane, the Resident Secretary of the New Zealand branch of the same Company, is in town. Mr Orbell returned to Geraldine yesterday. Mr J. A. X. Riedle left Ashburton for Timaru by the express y„terday. Mr Hugo Friedlai-der returned to Ashburton from the south by the express last vvening.
