Th« lung gloves for evening dress are always either white, cream, or a pale shade, to match the dress ; they are finished at the top with a fall or cuff of white lace spangled, and held round the arm with narrow ribbons, white, mauve, pink, according to the dress, and tied with pretty little bows without «d«. The back of the gloves has the three teams embroidered with small spangles one Over the other like scales; these spangles an generally red, gold, silver, &c. I have seen two elegant dresses. A skirt 'rf dark brown cloth plisse soleil, with a **ble blouse confined with a- Russian belt, in fhich gold and turquoise predominated ; Wow this belt a short basque, edged with »h- tails; the sleeves were brown cloth, li-t the skirt, full, plisse, and drawn in at tl»" Wrist; sable toque, with aigrette, and •"—ft* of the same fur, and two ends having »!» * fringe of sable tails. The other ♦Wstame is prune cloth, with velvet bodice tte"_me shade, and wide revers of chinchilla; *»IT of the same fur; toque of cerise felt, *»*- cerise feathers, and large chou of black '-vet. A handsome concert dress, with a long **ht> is of sky-blue satin embroidered with i"W and silver spangles in the front, and at w fades long sprays of shaded orchids in •"•bet __ relief, and delicate lines of straas ■••*"*- the sprays ; the low bodice is em. •* l *"**l"9*ed to match, and a tuft of real orchids tone placed at the corner of the shoulder. **y short puffed gauze sleeves. Another evening frock was white satin *«*d with gauze, embroidered with a SWntity of tiny flowers in soft shades; at «"4 of the satin skirt a garland of small Ws * in festoons, and at the edge of the Waa overskirt a ruche the shades of the «•*"-"», made of the little baby ribbon not • garter of an inch wide, called here """than cotuete;" the low bodice is pointed *ith roses round the shoulders, and short •"•tia sleeves. Another is vert d'eau satin merveilieujr, «* lower part of the skirt ornamented with .* Boun-je of white lace applique, enhanced **jjh a narrow white satin ribbon ; the low •**«"* entirely of lace, with a sort of berthe "**» of rows of narrow white satin ribbon, «*t*»d at each shoulder.
