SOME SIGNIFICANT TELEGRAMS.
The following are soma of the telegrams which passed between the members of the Reform Committee and others outside Johannesburg, and were m»de public ab the trial at Pretoria. The " Company flotation" and *'shareholders' meeting" are evideutiy tarnu vised to refer to Jameson's attemotto vraach Johannesburg :— " lOsh December, 1895— Fcoui Beib Capetown, to Liouel Phillips, care of Eckstein, Johannesburg.—Hammond wires that, company flotation must await my arrival. Oaunot oome at present, owing to health. Urge immediate ttutation," " 16th December, 1895. From Dr. Wolff to Bobby White,- Pitsaai—Would suggest that you at once instruct . Major Raleigh Grey forward as soon aa possible 200*000 hia surplus ammunition to G&rduer Witliams. There is not likely to ba postponement*" " 13th December, 1895. From Stevens tc Colonel Rhodes, Johannesburg.—Dr. Jameson wires most, strongly ta urge no postponement of shareholders' meeting, and lefc J. H. Hammond inform weak partners any delay most injurious. Dr. Wolff will explain fully reasoua at Directors' meeting." "20th Deaamber, 1895. From Beit, Capetown, to Lionel Phillips, Johannesburg. —Am again worse. This often, and am laid up. Am advised to go on Monday for week seaside. Iα my present health I ctnuot ba of auy uw to assist. Am moat anxious you should not delay flotation of uew Company on my account any longei than necessary. Immediate flotation ia the thiug most desired, as we oaver kaow what hinder if now delayed." "25th December, 1895. From Toad (Colonel Rhodes) to Charter, Capetown.—lb ia absolutely necessary to postpone flotation. Chas. Leonard left fot Capetown last night." •• December, 1895. From Haye, Johannesburg, to J&ttieaon, Pitsani.—-Wire just received. Experts report decidedly adverse. I absolutely condemn further developments at present.
