The men employed in Brown's collieries sued the owners for wages for a week's work after the expiry of the strike notice pending the holding of a conference. Brown refused to pay, claiming that he had not recognised the Union notice, and that the men must give a fortnight's individual notice. The Court held a Union notice to be invalid, and the men must give individual notice.
