SYDENHAM BOROUGH COUNCIL.

The Sydenham Borough Council met last night. Present —The Mayor and Cre. McLennan, Clifford, Muffett, Hadfield, L*rge, Manture, Caygill, Rudd, Cutler and Hertzell.

Apologies for absence were received from Cre. Billcliff and Macmillan.

The Works Committee recommended that tenders should be invited for the supply of 1000 cubic yards of broken metal.

The Inspector {reported that several dogs bad been registered at Addington as being the property of residents in the Spreydon and Riccarton districts, but who were actually residents of Sydenham. The Committee recommended that the matter should be brought under the notice of the Selwyn County Council with the view of the registration fees being paid over to Sydenham. The report was adopted. . The Finance Committee reported receipts £40 4e Id. Accounts amounting to £93 0s 3d were recommended for payment. The report was adopted.

A letter waa received from the Municipal Association stating that the Municipal Conference would be neld in Wellington on the 22nd inst.

A petition was read from several residents in Stanley street, asking for a lamp to be erected in the street.
