AKAROA.
An ordinary meeting of ■. the Akaroa Council was held on May 30bb. PresentMessrs Anaon (Chairman), Parkinson, Hay, Winter, Piper, Fleming and Mason. A question of alteration in the time of closing the Cbristchurch mail at Duvauchelle was considered. It was resolved to inform the Chief Postmaster that the Council did not consider there was any necessity for altering the time of closing. A reply from the Marine Department was received, stating that the aeked-for concession with respect to rigttts of foreshore could not be granted in the Wainui wharf district. It wai decided to send a copy of the letter to the Wainui Wha,rf Committee. An application from Mr O. Lβ Couite, of Berry a B*y, to be Allowed to erect a, small building on the road aide was refused. < In connection with the Lake Forsyth drainage scheme it was decided to ;reqaest the member for the district to take the necessary steps in Parliament to have all the unsold Crown land in and around Lake Forsyth vested in the Akaroa County Council. The Chairman was appointed delesjaie to the Counties Association Conference. The Engineer was directed to call for tenders for improvements on the main road Barry's Bay Hill. The Council approved of the action of the Pigeon Buy Board in exchanging roade through R.S. 20472, 25249, and 11295, Holmes' Valley, Pigeon Bay. Accounts amounting to £183 were paeaed for payment.
