TUESDAY'S PRODUCE REPORT.

(BY OOR COMMERCIAL EDITOR.) The grain and prodnoa market keeps very quiet, and the general complaint juat now, amongst merchants and bnyers. is the absence of ordera from ©ut3ide. Prices show bub little alteration, and holders both of wheat and oats maintain a steady front. Wheat is without much enquiry, and millers are only buying just sufficient to keep immediate wants supplied. Values are nominally 3s 8d to 3s 9J. Oats—Several lines of short feed have been sold this week at 2a, and long varieties at from Id to 2d less. Duns are without any enquiry worth speaking of, and are nominally worth la lOid to 13 lid. Baulk? has not much enquiry, and the quality of what is still unsold is too poor to meet with favour at maltster's hands. Quotations vary from 2a 4d to 2s 9d ; the range of qualities can only be described as " poor to medium malting." Chaff is hardly as much in request as it has been, the abundance of green feed acting largely as a check on the oonsumption. Prices are steady at 60a to 62j 6d at country etations. Potatoes —No business is passing. The same remarks are applicable to Beans an:l Peas. Cocksfoot—A slight speculative enquiry is apparent-, but no actual business is being done yet. Ryegrass — Prices are steady, and machine-dressed of good weight and fairly heavy 13 worth from 33 91 to 4s 31. [These quotations, unless otherwise specified, are. the net cash prices paid to the producer free of brokerage or commission, and for delivery at country stations within a twenty.five 7iiile radius of town. For delivery on board ship at Lyttelton add 2d to per bushel.]
