NEW ZEALAND CRICKET COUNCIL.

The Committee of the New Zealand Crioket Council was held at the City Hotel, last night. Present—Messrs F. Wilding (in the chair), T. D. Condell (Hawke's Bay), L. A. Cuff and T. D. Harman (Canterbury), \V. H. VVanklyn (Taranaki), and O. R. Smith (Hon. Secretary). The Secretary had received a reply from the New South Wales Association stating that the question of sending a team to New Zealand would be gone fnlly into at the annual meeting. The Victorian Association had not replied respecting a team from Victoria. The Secretary reported having placed the matter before the various Associations in New Zealand, and had received replies from the Auckland Association, which was not in a position to - grant any specific amount; from, the Blenneim, which could not grant acy sum; from Canterbury, offering to guarantee a minimum amount of from £75 to £100 tor a three days'match; from Wellington, which was unprepared to make any offer until probable expenses were known. The Taranaki, Hawke's Bay, and Otago Associations had not replied. After discussion, it was decided, on the motion of Mr Wanklyh, to invite a team from New South Wales to play here during January or February, 1896, the Council undertaking to pay certain expenses, and the team to consist of twelve men and a manager. It was also decided that the Council should receive 70 per cent, of the gross takings at each match, after deducting ground expenses; and that, provided the terms were accepted, matches should be played at Auckland, Wellington, Canterbury, Otago, and Hawke's Bay (if possible), and two New Zealand matches, one in each ieland.
