A pro- ' poail Avould be made to further reduce the Governor's salary and emoluments, and for strict retrench ment in the Public Departments in order to avoid further taxation. Measures \yould be introduced for the consolidation and conversion of loans, assistance to producers by means of cheap railAvay rates, subsidies to freezing works and co-operative vineries, the making of early closing compulsory, the establishment of a State Banian d substantial land reform. With the exception of the reciprocal treaty with New Zealand no new policy of importance was mentioned.
