THE DREDGE EMPLOYEES.
TO THE EDITOR OK THE PRESS. Sir, —With your kind permission I would draw your attentionJto an unjust action of the Lyttelton Harbour Board at their lastmeeting, held last Saturday, in deciding to dismiss the most oi .the crew with a fortnight's notice. When we left Dunediu under the charter that has just expired we were given to understand that at the end of the charter the Board here had the option of employing the dredge for a* fresh charter on the same terms as the first, but instead of this Board doing so we are-turned adrift with a fortnight's notice, which we consider very unfair and unjust after serving the Board here for two previous charters, also in Wellington and in Dunedin, for many years without any complaint of any kind. But &s the matter of chartering the dredge
is to be brought up again at another meeting this week we hope that some justice may be given to us.—Yours, <_c, 3 Dredge Man.
