The proprietors of Block 10 mine at Broken Hill have decided to erect a concentrating plant capable of treating 2000 tons of crude sulphide ore per week. They state that the small plant in use at present has thoroughly demonstrated the success of this method. CLERICAL APPOINTMENT. Canon Flower, of Ballarat, has been appointed Archdeacon of Grafton. PUBLIC WORKS IN NEW SOUTH WALES. Speaking at the opening of the Bur wood - Marrickville railway, the Hon. J. H. Young, Minister for Public Works, said the Government considered it was justifiable to construct public works which would pay. As the cloud of depression was passing away he believed the construction of railways would be taken up in earnest, and the Government would submit proposals for several important lines directly Parliament met. The policy of the Government was to proceed with reproductive works regularly and steadily.
