DARFIELD.
A very successinl athletic meeting was held in the Darfield Domain on January let. The attendance was good, and the weather all that could be desired. The track, which was a new one, was very loose and heavy, bat through the generosity of the public the Committee are now in a position to make great improvements. A number of children's races were got off daring the intervals. The amateur events were under the rules of the N.Z.A.A.A. and N.Z.U.A. The. officers of the day were :— Judges, J. Goujzh, Esq., and Dr. Inglis; Haudicappera, Messrs D. Gillanders, W. Clinton, A. D. Holmes, J. Gillanders, Dr. Inglis, J. Cowan, and C. W. Withell; Starter, Mr D. Gillanders; Treasurer, Dr. Inglis; Secretary, Mr J. Cowan ; Timekeepers, Messrs Holmes and Clinton. Appended are the resnlts of tlie contests :— 120 Yards Hurdles—A. Gillanders, syds, 1; J. T. Stewart 2. Only first prize awarded. Two started.
