(prss association telegrams.) NAPIER, January 2. There was beautiful weather for the holidays. INVERCARGILL, January 2. Though it rained all Monday lovely weather was experienced for the holiday oq Tuesday. The takings at the Caledonian games amounted to £247, the largest ou record. At the cycling sports, which were also well attended, if ay ward, of Christchurch, won the three mile championship of Southland, and the Two Mile Handicap, and also ran- second in the Ten Mile to G. C Cuthbertson, ivbo had a handicap of 575 yds. To-day the weather is magnificent, and thousands are going by rail to the Bluff regatta.
