LABOUR QUESTIONS.

CABLE NEWS.

Press ASMolatton—By Telegraph-Copyright. Newcastle, January 2. A strong feeling prevails that the colliery owners should have allowed the Wallsend miners cavil places in the mines, as thia question is not affected in the presenb difficulty. To abolish cavilling means the destruction of the possibility of a man who has for one quarter been working in a difficult place obtaining a place next to the cavil where coal is to be got much easier. Non-Unionists from the other mines visited the town, and in order to protect themselves from molestation came armed with revolvers. An angry demonstration was made against them by the assembled miners, and on the advice of the police the free men retired, and what appeared likely to be a rice was avoided.
