SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

The Rangiora Committee held its monthly meeting on Wednesday evening, when aU the members were present except the Rev. P. R.Monro, Mr W. H. Foster presiding. The Minister for Education and Mr Buddo, M.H.K., wrote in reply to the Committee* letter asking them to urge a universal of school books. The Town Clerk, ' Rangiora, wrote asking the Committee to join the Council in an endeavour to provide a swimming bath for the borough. It was decided to co-operate,. and Messrs Boyd and Ball were appointed to represent the school. The Canterbury Progressive Liberal Association wrote re tbe College endow-., ment. Mr Boyd >as appointed to attend the meeting. Accounts amounting to £9 15s 6d were passed for payment,. The. master's report showed the average attendance to be 573, and the number -oa the roll 436. A sub-committee was "appointed to arrange for a treat to the scholar! instead of giving prizes. Messrs Ball an. Graham were appointed a ~ visiting committee.
