Cresswell, writes as follows :—" Mr Holmes informed mc that he nominated Token aud not Ivanhoe for Cup and Flying. His wire to the Sacretarv read as follows:—'Nominate Ivaiiftbe Hurdles, Token C'-o and Flying." Mr Holmes wired to t'.ic b .cretary about it, but I h.tve not received auy instructions from him, so I have added Token's weight in case you have heard from the Secretary."
Acceptances ore due to-day for the Hawkes Bay Cup and Railway Stakes. Nominations must also be made for a number of handicap*- to be ruu at the H.B.J.C.'s Autumu Meeting. Weights for the Waimate Meeting are dm* to be disclosed to-day. Final payments are due by nine o'clock this evening for the Wanganui Cop.
A Hokitika telegram states that highly aatiiafactory nominations were received last evening for the Easter race meeting— sixteen for the Trial Stakes, nine for the Citizens' Purse, aud six for the Hurdles.
