Cain is instituting an action for libel against the Licensed Victuallers' Gazette, and pending the result has resigned the Presidency ,of the Wellington Prohibition League. * > February 25. Within the past few days two writs for alleged libel have been served on the proprietors of the Wairarapa Star, one at the instance of Mr Greviile, Surveyor, and the other by Mr N. Nathan, turf commission agent, claiming £1000 and £600 respectively. Both actions refer to comments u»th«pap«r.
