SCHOOL COMMITTEES.
Tho monthly meeting of the Addington Committee was held in. the schoolroom on Wednesday evening. Present — Messrs Cutler (Chairman), Cook, Down, Frost, Johnson, aud Light body. Apologies from Messrs Brovra and Clarke for non-attend-ance were accepted. The headmaster's report showed the number oa the re 11 to be 345, with an average attendance of 330. The report further aUted that Mies Currie had resumed charge ot the infant department. Out of five pupil teachers who sat for the recent examination four wero sue* cessful, and three were placed on the Honours' list. It was decided that tho master be congratulated on the result. It was decided to support the candidature of the Hon. W. Montgomery, Messrs Munnings and Cutler for the vacancies on the Board ot Education. Mr \V. Dalley resigned his position on the Committee through removal from the district. Accounts to the extent of £25 9s 9d having been passed for payment the meeting terminated.
The Belfast School Committee held their monthly meeting on Monday evening. Present—Messrs D. Patcliett (Chairman), .). Longman, E. Thompson, J. Scott, and Win. Nichols. The mastor's report showed a alight falling oil' in the attendance owing to whooping cough being prevalent in the district. The Committee passed a resolution recommending Messrs Munnings, Anson and Cutler to be members of the Education Board.
Tne monthly meeting of the Kolleston Committee was held on Monday evening. Present—Messrs T. Needham (Chaiam&n), R. Farrell, J. Harris, T. McPhelan, J. Kelly, and H. Kenny. Ifc waa resolved to vote for Messrs T. H. Auaon and J. Mnn« nings and the Hon. W. Montgomery for the vacancies on the Board. The master's report stated that, the attendance ehowed a slight increase which was considered satisfactory. Tho Chairman was empowered to have certain improvements effected immediately.
The monthly meeting of tho Temuka Committee was held on Tuesday. Present —Messrs Sahnond (chairman), Mile?, Bates, Levens, Rusaell, Hooper and McCaakell. It waa resolved—"That the Committee vote for Meesrs Gray, Talbot and Pearpoint as members of the Education Board." The head master reported that the attendance had been particularly good. The Savings' Bank book had been audited and found correct. After the transaction of minor business the meeting adjourned. A meeting of the Selwyn Committee was held on Tuesday evening. Present—-Mesars Parker Westenra (Chairman), J. T. Wright, J. M. Furse, J. Brown, R. Mangin, D. Oorneliua. It Was decided to vote for Mess::) Auson, Montgomery and Munuings for th:> vacancies on the Board. Regret was expressed that Air E. G. Wright did not come forward. The monthly meeting of the Rangiora Borough School Committee was held on Wednesday, Mr Jennings, chairman, presiding. Letters were read — From the Board of Education, confirming pupil teaoher'a appointment, and stating a side school at Cam was not shown to bo required. The headmaster reported on roll 432, average attendance 356. It was decided to vote for Messrs Anson, Munnings, and Hon. W. Montgomery as members of the Board of Education. Mr W. H, Luxton's motion— " That no prizes be given this year " was adjourned. ; Rev. P. R. Munro and Mr Luxton were appointed the visiting committee for the month.
