A meeting of the householders in the newly constituted school district of Hornby took plase on January 22nd and selected the following seven persons to act on the Com- > mittee:—Wm. Brown, J. R. Spicer, Jos. Andrews," tTno." Aah worth, G. F. Gee, Jae. Leslie, and Thos. N. Grange. A considerable amount of interest was taken in the matter, the above being elected out of twelve nominated. At a meeting of the Committee in the evening Mr Grange was elected to act as Chairman for the first term.
