LINCOLN.
The ordinary meeting of the Lincoln Road Board was held on Monday, September 4th. Present—All the members. Mr J. W. Prebble in the chair. Correspondence was read from the Selwyn County Council, modifying the conditions of their previous offer ie the unemployed. It was resolved to accept the same and employ men to clear the gravel pits from gorse and broom and screen shingle. From the Hon. W. Rolleston, promising to give effect to the Board's wishes re Noxious Weeds BilL From the Tai Tapu Road Board, in reply, objecting to pay anything towards the cost of repairs to Leathem's bridge as they do nob consider the bridge suitable for the traffic Clerk to reply that the repairs executed have kept the bridge open for all traffic during the last four years, and being largely need by the ratepayers of the Tai Tapu district, they are legally bound to pay half the cost of the repairs. From Mr E. CRourke, asking permission to make an open crossing in the Broadfield road, and one on the Shand's road for the water race. Granted conditionally. From the Treasury, notifying that balance of subsidy bad been placed to the Board's credit at the National Bank. The Clerk's report •was read and approved. Resolved—That tenders be invited for spreading the clay from Townshend'a drain on the road. That the Clerk attend to the gorse nniaance, and see that all dead gorse is burnt or cleared away. That some more poisoned wheat be obtained, and to advertise that all rates outstanding on the 30th instant will be sued for. Accounts amounting to £142 lls 3d were passed for payment, and the meeting closed.
