LODGE MEETINGS.
The opening meeting of the Loyal Orange Lodge No. 1, Maiden City of Lytteltoa, at their new abode, was held on Friday last at the Bible Christian Church, Woolston, when the warrant and seal and usual Lodge appliances were brought from Lyttelton by Bro. Leman. The Lodge was opened with the usual ceremony by the W.M., Bro. Kennedy, after which, by the request ol the W.M., 'Brother Middleton, of No. 24, took the deputy chair. Bro. Carter, of No. 5, acted as Chaplain, and District Secretary Bro. J. R. Carey acted as Secretary, and Bro. Redpath Treasurer. An apology was received from the District Master, Bro. J. Tolerton, through ill-health. It was resolved that the Secretary write to the District asking consent u> change the date of Lodge meeting from the second Friday to the first Thursday in each month. It was also decided to hold a social at an early date in celebration of the opening of an Orange Lodge in , Woolston. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the visiting brethren, and briefly responded . to, after which the Lodge was then closed in due form by the W.M. . - •
