RICH DISCOVERY OF IRON ORE.

(-•BBSS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, May> The Wairarapa Star reports that a rich discovery of iron ore has been made by three prospectors in that district. The locality is not stated as the prospectors have not yet applied for a lease. An analysis made by Mr Skey shows 96 per cent, of iron. West, one of the prospectors, says that in his opinion the iron ore is only the capping'of a rich lode of silver. The locality is said to lio within two miles of a railway station and millions of tons of iron ore are in sight. Sir Jas. Hector is being asked to visit the place, and two experts are coming over from Australia. Several Wellington residents are interesting themselves in the matter and, according to the Star, a company will probably be formed.
