THE WELLINGTON ELECTION.
(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.)
. WELLINGTON, January 13. As Friday draws near the interest in the election thickens, and the contest promises to be as keen as any ever seen here. Mr McLean held the last of his meetings at the Opera House last night, the Premier and Mr Reeves speaking as well as himself. He addresses a mass meeting' on the reclaimed land to-morrow night, for which great preparations are* being made. Mr Bell addresses two meetings to-night. Gigantic Committee meetings of both candidates are being held pretty > well< every evening to clear the 'decks, and, get, everything in fighting trim.' Both sides profess the utmost confidence.
