[rasas assooatior tsxkorak.J DUNEDIN, February 5. In August last a halfcaste living at Chatham Islands saw rockets sent np, evidently from a vessel lying on the west reef. It was after -his that the wreckage of the Assays began to come ashore. The half caste's story was only laughed at by his people and they say a fishing party had lights burning, but Mr Shand, a resident, after mvestigating the matter, is quite satisfied that the half caste's statement is true and that the rockets came from the Assays*
