TEMPLETON ROAD BOARD.
The monthly meeting of this Road Board was held at the office, Yaldhurst, on Mouday the 2nd lust. Present — Messrs Carpenter ((/hairnian), Bailey, Taylor, Marsh, and Gunn. Correspondence was read from the Selwyn County Council, with reference to the D.jg Registration Act Amendment Act IS9O, aud Hαclosing forms of declaration o be nlied in by farmers, drovers, or shepherds when registering under the reduced fee of 2s (Jd\ such forms to be sent in with the monthly returns. From the same, inttmatimc that the bonus offered by the Council on monies expended by Road board) in the suppression of small birds will be coiitiuue.d until3lst March next. From Mr A. ,-W. Hancock, asking the Board to lengthen a scone culverC opposite his premises on the Middle Lincoln Road. The surveyor was instructed to inspect and report at the next meeting. The surveyor's report was then read. Mr Jag. Lane had signed lease for reserve 2528, at the rental offered, but declined to give rent asked for Reserve 999. Fixed deposit £200 would mature on the 26th ins(. The storm-water drain from the junction o* Buchanan's and pound, leading to gravel pit on the Pound Reserve, needed attention to prevent overflow going down the former road. The few outstanding rates were being recovered bylegal proceedings. The Bbv. T. P. Winter had replied, asking that the drainage question might be deferred until his return home from a short visit. Resolved—That fixed deposit be renewed for twelve months. The Surveyor to take levels, and have necessary work carried out, to render drain on Pound road fit for carrying away the surplus water. Other matters were referred to the Surveyor, and detail business disposed of, and having passed accounts amounting to £74 Is Bd, the meeting adjourned.
