The monthly meeting was held on December Ist. Present—Messrs Evans I (Chairman), Chapman, Hopkins, Milne 1 and. Pasbby. Letters were read—From the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, ] statins; the election of members to represent the Ashley county on the Hospital aud Charitable Aid Boards would take place at the Banglora Road Board office on Wednesday, November 26th, at 2.15 p.m. Kaiapoi Borough Council, requesting this Board to pay over the registration fee for two dogs said, to belong to the borough. The owner informed the Board the dogin question belonged to the Eyreton district at the time of registration, and for several months afterwards. The Clerk was directed to reply accordingly. W,. Acton-Adams, applying for a crossing over-a 1 creek to be -made- on- Templer'B Island, and offering to get the work done at a cose of £3. The Clerk was directed to inquire if the Work required was on a' public road. Mr D. Pihl, requesting the Board to clear away a dam made by the owner of tht land on Ashworth road, and to clean out the drain the fall length. The Surveyor was directed to see that the road complained of was not made higher than the natural surface of tbe land. Mr F. W. Blackmore presented a petition signed by thirty-three ratepayers, requesting the Board to favorably consider the necessity of constructing a footbridge over the | north branch of the Walmakariri, near Perrin's Ford. Resolved — That this Board will favorably consider the matter, provided tbe Mandeville'and Banglora Road Board will contribute half the cost. Mr J. Bollington informed the Board that he wished to remove the fence along the western boundary of B.S. No. 423 to the proper-boundary, and was informed the Board had no objection to offer so lo_g as it was erected in its proper place. Resolved—-That the Banger's attention be called to the damage being done to' the Eyre banks by stray cattle. The Rate Collector was directed to sue for all rates not paid before December 16th, without further notice.
