At ihe Acclimatisation Society's meethty the question of the exportation of gam and fish during the close geaaon was 009 eidered, replies having been received from other societies as to their intention to tain action. An explanation was received treat one fishmonger, who. stated that dazing the season large quantities were received from Lake Waka tip _» and when the market was oversupplied ths fish were sent to the refrigerating works, and. kept until the close of the season whan they were exported or sold locally. The Secretary of the ____ igeratina Company corroborated this, and stated that the Company declined to freeze ftaJb except during the season. A Commit __ was appointed to wait on the Union Cota pany to &&k their assistance in preventing the export, and ths Bail way Commission.*, are also to be communicated with, Tlu apaaager reported with reference to th* return of salmon from the sea that Bang_ Burt caught a female fish 3|lb in thf Snderoa, which he wao certain was • salmon, but the fish escaped from th* small enclosure he had maM.
