LODGE MEETINGS.

On Thursday the installation of Bro. T. Bingham and the investiture of the officers of the Ashley Masonic Lodge took place In the Lodge room, Perceval street, Ringiora, in presence of a large concourse of the brethren, among whom were the Grand Lodge officers and visitors from other Masonic Lodges. The ceremonial was - conducted by Bro. H. Thomson, R.W.G.M. The officers invested with the jewels of their offices were Bro. R. Ball, -LW.; Bro. J. Smith, J.W.; Bro. A P. Tutton, S.D.; Brft. J, Parkin, J.D. : Secretary, Bro. T. Boyd; Treasurer, Bro. A. Ivory; Bro. S. Stephens, D.C.; Bro. T. Bing, LG.; Bro. E. Reeve, Tyler. Refreshments were afterwards partaken of. The Royal Arch Chapter, U.A.0.D., visited Lincoln on Thursday evening for the purpose of conferring degrees on past officers of the Order in that district. There was a good attendance of past officers, including P.D.P.'s Bros. Stewart. Thomson, Willsteed, and D.P. Bro. Hulbert, who attended to assist the Chapter. The interest shown was manifested by the large number who took their degrees and certificates. Lectures were delivered by RAD. Bro. E. Harris, V.R.B.D. Bro. J. Taylor, and P.D.P. Bro. Chas, Thomson. After the Chapter work was concluded, D.G. President Bro. E. Harris installed Bro. H. Neill as District President, the whole proceedings having been of a most impressive nature. Business being comSleted the visitors were invited to supper, ongs were contributed by both country members and the visitors, and several toasts honored, recognition being made by the visitors of the hearty welcome which had been accorded them. . j The Courtenay Loyal Orange Lodge held their monthly meeting in their ball on Tuesday evening. Mr H. W. McClelland, W.M, presided. The Lodge expressed approval of the plan adopted by the Grand Lodge officers for celebrating the bicentennial anniversary of the memorable Boyne in Chriatchurch on July 12th and 13th, and pledged itself to earnestly support the movement. A strong Committee was appointed, to make arrangements for the local celebration of the "12th,** the date of which was fixed for July 18th, so as not to interfere with the central celebration. During the evening reference was made to a painful and dangerous accident sustained by one of the Lodge. Much sympathy was expressed, and a resolution carried unanimously—"Thatthe members desired to express their regret at the sad Accident that befel our brother, Charles Campbell, at Waddington Railway station on Wednesday, 21st inst." The Hope of Christchurch Lodge, LO.G.T., held its weekly session on Tuesday last at the Druids' Mall. There was a large attendance, among which were visitors from Ashburton Lodges. Bro. Efford, C.T.,presided. Two membersfrom Pride of Dunedin Lodge, Dunedin, were admitted by clearance card. One member reinstated, and two persons proposed for membership. It was resolved that the __odza pay an official visit to the Seashell I_od_e, Lyttelton, on Wednesday, June 11th. After the routine business was completed the Lodge went into harmony.
