DUNEDIN. May 14. Thomas Salter died suddenly at his residence, Anderson's Bay road. In December he .arrived from Sydney with hia family in indifferent health, having been in a lunatic lasylum before coming here. It had been ordered that no spirits should be given, but daring his wife's absence to town Salter procured some rum, and on her return she found him dead. At tho inquest a verdict was returned of death from premature decay due to cferonio alcoholism and also to insanity.
