A large staff of artists are constantly employed, and the operator has had twentv-W rears' *W rience in the art, and as Eden George personally supervises the work none but the highest finished photographs will be allowed to leave the studio. The enlarging, printing and finishing rooms have been made the most extensive in the colonies, so that, excepting unusually bad weather, all excuses for delay In executing rders are now hanpllv at an end. COLORED PHOTOGRAPHS. An Accomplished Artist has been imported for this branch, and Ladies' and Children s Photographs can now be beautifully colored. SPECIAL NOTICE. Although all prices have been considerably, reduced, the prestige of my Establishment will be maintained, and ladies can depend upon their photos not being exhibited in restaurants, tobacconists, and on street corners, as is usually the case when patronising a cheap photographer. EDEN GEORGE'S FASHIONABLE PHOTOGRAPHIC STUDIO. Note. —As there is a photographer im mediately next door, persons are particularly requested not to mistake my entrance. Eden Gkorgx. FAMILY GROUPS. The magnificent Groups of Families Football Clubs, &*-_, taken at our Studio have elicited thb most flattering encomiums from the Press, and all persons who have entrusted us with their orders have been highly delighted at the results. 12 by 10 photographs taken of Clubs beautifully enamelled and supplied at is each. MELBOURNE EXHIBITION. __ 1"? OM > A Vi ctorian Jour axA Mr Eden Lreorge, of Christchurch, N.Z., exhibits a splendid collection of photographs, which are so remarkably clear and striking as to place Mr fiden George at the head of his professions. Nothing finer of their kind, perhaps, have ever been proo an T-rJ£ Uced t , he two portraits of bir William Jervois and the late Sir Julius vqn Haast. Scarcely if at all less remarkable are the two full - length portraits of two ladies. The Wonderful manner in which the drapery and ostrich feathers are detailed in the one to the left is a proof that the operator is a thorough master of the art. Even more attractive is a frame of pedestal photographs of ladies, "'taken from life." These not only have a new and original appearance, but must be regarded as a faultless production of the photographer's art. The whole of the portraits exhibited are equally noticeable for the natural and artistic character of the pose the subtlety and beauty of the half-tones, and that indescribable something that painters have called quality. It is almost a pity that Mr Eden George should have entered his exhibit not for competition. PHOTO. STOCKDEPARTMENT. No. 7 Willie Btreet, nearly opposite the Empire Hotel. OPINIONS OFTHE PRESS! The Press. Ciirißtc urch, Noveiuour 26th.— " The new process marks a distinct adv_nce in the art of photography. There ia a softness and delicacy about the two specimens before na which we have seldom, if ever, seen equalled by any method of photography. Messrs WriKKleswortli and Binns have lo_g distinguished themselves among New Zealand photographers by the excellence of their work, and in this new invention they appear to have excelled themselves " "The BJvening Star, Dunedin, November 27th.—"The new procesß is denominated the * Matt-Opal Type,'a term which, to some extent, points to the improvement of the ground oh which the picture is printed. Although on paper or cardboard, the preoaration gives- ie the beauty and nearly the brilliancy of opaline, while the delicacy of the half-tints and snadows in the specimens we have received impart a finish and relief to the pictures which render them equal in finish and beauty to the best executed engraving*" „ '" The Marlborough Express, 27th November. —"We have seen specimens of the work, and we have no hesitation in saying that the MattOpal Type will revolutionise photography and be universally adopted. In fact, one could never endure looking at a glazed picture after seeing these. The softness of outline and the * relief' of the picture ia quite remarkable." "Evening Post," Wellington, Bth November. —"After the usual style of thing, the eye rests gratefully on such portraits as those shown by Messrs Wrig_lesworth and Binns. They have all the awftness and delicacy of an Indian ink drawing. The general effect is really charming.' ,; 7 WILLIS STREET, WELLINGTOiV, Nearly opposite the Empire HoteL Telephone No. 16_> J. T.
