London, April 11. Kauri gum is in good demand. One thousand cases have been sold at full rates.
The weekly returns of the Bank of England published to-day show the total reserve in notes and "bullion to be £15,106,000, being a decrease of £248,000 as compared with the previous week. The proportion of reserve to liabilities is 43.90.
New Zealand three and a half per cents, are quoted at 98i, and four and a half at 107. Reeelved ADril 13th, 6.30 p.m. London, April 11. - Four hundred live sheep from the Argentine Bepublic, imported into Liverpool, realised double the price received far River Plate frozen mutton.
At the wool sales there was good competition, and prices remained steady. Best •scoured show a decline of 2d. Consols, 97f. Leather, 9d to 9£d.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following cablegram, dated London, April 11th :—
"Tallow—The market is dull. Fine mutton and good beef are worth respectively 24s 9d and 23s 9d per owt.
" Frozen unchanged," Messrs Dalgety and Co., Limited, have received a cablegram from Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company, stating that the Asterion has arrived, and her wool will be in time for the April sales.
