The parties had land adjoining one another, the boundary being a creek, and plaintiff sued defendant for the value of two calves which, he contended, were drowned owing to the defendant cleaning out the drain in an improper manner. After hearing lengthy evidence, the Bench said they would look up the Fencing Act before giving their decision. Slaughter Licenses.— Renewals were granted to J. Lewton, J. W. M. Cox, and H. Elderton. Civil Case.—Lewton v Musgrave, claim £13 3s. Judgment for plaintiff, amount to be paid in a month.
