SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

LYTTELTON. On Monday evening last the usua monthly meeting of this Committee was held in the school-room. Present —Rev. £. E. Chambers (chairman), Revs. Hill and Bond, Messrs Derbridge, Stinson, Giftbrd and Batten. Correspondence was received from the Board of Education with reference to the appointment of Mr Laing as assistant teacher, and he was given the position. The Head Master's report showed the average attendance at the main school to be 586, and the side school 99. It was decided that the Easter holidays commence on April 18th. The Committee resolved that they would not recognise any account unless their written order had been given. Accounts amounting to £7 10s were passed for payment, and Messrs Qerbridge and Stinson were appointed a sub-Committee to report on the estimated cost of .putting (he school grounds in repair.
