Mr Stringer appeared for plaintiffs; Mr Crisp, for Mr Purnell, for defendant. Evidence was taken at a previous sitting of the Court. Sib, —Now that our w""n»1 export of potatoes has become so large, it might not be amiss to call the attention of growers to the injury that is likely to be done to this growing industry b> sending forward an unfit sample for shipment. Quite recently a shipment of upwards of 100 tons had to be picked over on the wharf at liyttelton,,a large proportion being rejected. Oα arrival at Brisbane the same J performance had to be enacted again, thus causing much trouble and loss. Why could not growers have forwarded Bound tubers ''in one act P , No wonder a Brisbane newspaper said, when noting the arrival of potatoes from Canterbury—" We hope these will turn out to be good ones."—Yours, too., SJPMP SfCP. After making diligent enquiry it was found there was no foundation for the rumor
