The monthly maotiog of the Weipara Bead Board was held at the Boad Board office, Waikari, on Tuesday. December lith. Present—Messrs J. D. Lasoe (Chairman). T, Sanderson, H. F. Boece, J. Little. The Chairman remarked that whilst in Christohurch he had seen Sir Beeoe, and, although quite agreeable to do so, could not find the necessary time to properly fulfill the duties appertaining to the Hospital and Charitable Aid Boards, but he thought the pott was ably filled by Mr 3. C. Boys, who hod accepted it. To-morrow ho bod to attend a Court in Cbrieteburoh, of which MrC. Whitefoord had been appointed Chairman, regarding White's bridge, over tbe Waimakariri. The mosey now required was not heavy, bat tho system was a new one, ia which tho two conation, Selwyn and Ashley, were both Interested, and from what be eoald see it left a Urge question In fatirs. Yesterday he also saw the Inspector cf Surveys, and the Government), id not seem inclined to advance any money for the clearing ot the Hurauol-BlnuT road. However, as it bad been advertised, if suitable tenders were in to-day, be thought the best plan would be to let it, as the rood although formed, was perfectly useless. Tbe following correspondence was then read:—From the Secret»ry to &• Treasury, that tbe part of the subsidy had been paid. From tbe Manager of the Onion Bank ,'of Australia, acknowledging the receipt of same. 1 From the Snrveyor-GeaeraVa office, that the additional subsidy would be paid when the duplicate agreement was returned. From tbe Commissioner of trown Lands, that it tbe road pointed ont by him had been sanctioned to be made, tbe, money arising from the -mall runs due ta the Board would be forwarded. From the Amuri County Council, wishing the Waiau Plains Water supply plan to te inspected/. From the Secretary to the Ataointyre testimonial fund, enclosing a subscription list. From the Kegtotrar, Canterbury College, giving date of tbe expiration ot lease of reserve asked for. From Air W. Atkinson, intimating that although he b*d p-li his rates, he did not think they worn tu.ult-a to them, as be bad not any direct road to bis land. From Mr Archibald Eastman,complainiogof tbe road by the Horonui river side. From Mr J. Denton and others, wishing te have the money- promi»ed some time sines laid oat before harvest. Messrs Atkinson's and Eastman's letters to be acknowledged.; >Mr Denton's road to be attended to. The plan forwarded by tbe Commissioner of Crown Lands was inspected, and the roa > pointed out by him nas agreed to. Powis road to be advertised at once, to be finished by harvest. Tenders were then opened, aad the undermentioned accepted :— Glendhu-cuttings, James MeLelland: HarunuiBluff rood, John Dalzellj dog-collars for tha year 1897, Max. Skeeark, Bangiora. It waa agreed that the men working for the Board mast not nave dogs with them on tbe works ia foture.
